Hi there! I'm Nicky, a creative soul with a passion for bringing ideas to life.

It’s fair to say my creative foundation began in childhood, drawing, sculpting, painting and the countless weekends helping my Dad around our home. I learned how to create purpose built things — which made studying Industrial Design feel like a natural fit. There, I learned to blend functionality with aesthetics in thoughtful, innovative ways. As globalization reshaped the manufacturing landscape (and because the rent definitely doesn’t pay itself), my path later pivoted to web design, and then to fashion design and pattern making during my time living in California.

My path eventually led me to the furniture industry in a role that brought all my skills together. It was during this time I discovered a love for breathing new life into old pieces through restoration. Being surrounded by the luxurious colours and textures of upholstery fabrics, my curiosity for surface design grew. These experiences not only shaped my design perspective but also deepened my appreciation for creating spaces that are meaningful, personal, and full of life.

That belief grew even stronger when I became a parent. I am a proud mamma of two beautiful humans and one much-loved fur baby, and parenthood infused my world with a new layer of inspiration and purpose. Over the years, I’ve created clothing and costumes, crafted home furnishings, restored furniture, built cosy nooks and outdoor play spaces — always guided by a desire to honour family, history, and the stories held within our homes. From my children’s infancy through to their independence, I’ve found joy in every stitch and every stroke.

In 2022, emerging from lockdown with a fresh wave of enthusiasm, I returned to study. Following my passion and a serendipitous moment, I signed up for a surface pattern design course. That study gave me the technical and creative skills I use in my surface pattern design work today.
I'm incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by a supportive community of friends and family who inspire me daily. With their encouragement, I continue to create beautiful things, infusing spaces with style and personality. It's a journey I cherish, filled with endless possibilities and boundless creativity.
